Nutrition vs calories...🤔
Why we need to focus on the importance of nutrients in our body?
Some people think that calories are all that matters and that burning or not more calories than you eat is what will keep you in good shape. I think this is not entirely true, because we know so much little about the importance of nutrients and their impact on our health.
Lack of essential nutrients (vitamins, minerals, etc.) is a type of malnutrition, and the deficiency of any specific nutrient has become a general health problem worldwide. It may sound contradictory, but people who don’t have overweight are not necessarily healthy. A total lack of nutrients can trigger all kinds of degenerative, involuntary and old-age diseases.
When you take the time to evaluate the nutritional value of your food rather than focusing solely on calories, you will find yourself making more informed decisions about your diet.
Eat smart 😋

And the good news is that food which is nutritionally sound is usually lower in calories and sugar than processed prepackaged items. There are for sure steps to take to get the nutritional value of things at a lower calorie for those who are trying to lose weight. I don't think this is an either or thing- calories or good nutrition. They can coexist and create perfect balance for those who want to put effort into it. If you read the label of a lean cuisine or weight watchers prepackaged frozen meal, you will be floored and shocked by how not nutritional they are for the 500 calories or 5 points they are selling you. A huge salad with tuna, olive oil, lemon and every veg you can think of will give you less calories, fill you up more and give you all the nutrition you need in a single day. Eat your colors people :)!

I like your point of view @emili. Healthy eating increases energy, improves the way your body functions, strengthens your immune system and as you said prevents weight gain. That's a great idea, choosing a salad with tuna between a prepackaged frozen meal. It's important to check the labels to make sure what we actually eating. 🤔
