This really is the most frustrating thing about Fitbit, particularly as everything else is so good. It is an issue that has been going on for years and while I have had various phones and various Fitbit devices. I am an experienced user and I have tried everything to remedy this but nothing works. Basically the problems are this:
1. Because it is mostly impossible to edit food lists on the phone, we are forced to edit them on the webpage. (Dont even talk to me about the desktop app!!!) However, only some changes made on the webpage make it back to the phone.
2. Favourite foods can only be tagged as such on the webpage. This seems to sync back to the phone OK.
3. Changes made to meals (which are bizarrely not called meals on the phone but are called "Custom") are no synced back to the phone all. So, if I delete a component of a meal or add another component on the webpage, none of this is synced back to the phone app.
4. The Recent list on my phone is a complete nightmare. The item on the top of the list is something I have not eaten for over three months and the third item, "4 pieces Smoked Sturgeon" is something I have never eaten!
I could go on but it is clear to me that no-one is taking this seriously. It is not a user problem it is a programming problem. When is Fitbit going to address this?

I think I have to eat some humble pie here! I logged in to my Fitbit app on a Chromebook and found that my food lists were perfectly synced with the web dashboard. So the problem is only on my phone. In the past I have uninstalled the app on the phone and reinstalled it but it has made no difference. This time I went through the procedure and found that on the reinstalled app my food lists are properly synced. Yay! Let's see how long it lasts.
