Ideas to get cholesterol levels down

My cholesterol levels have been a bit high and Doc wants to put me on medication, I am resisting as I don't like taking tablets.  There is so much confusing and conflicting information out there I need a bit of advice.  Any ideas?

Did your doctor really not give you advice on that?

There are several standard ways: increase exercise, lose body fat, cut back on eating saturated fats, increase soluble fiber intake.

Before posting, re-read to see if it would make sense to someone else not looking at your Fitbit or phone.
