Increased Water Intake as Running duration/distance increases

I assume my increased water intake is due to the increased distance I am running set for one hour. I find myself losing an average of 2.5 pounds of water per run in the morning and gaining back 2 pounds of food & water after dinner.

Does anyone have any experience of being really thirsty for water during the day to replenish the loss of liquids and then sweating all that water out doing cardiovascular exercise?

I am not sure I completely follow the question, but here is my experience.. I sweat like a pig during cardio. Drenched worst than a man. Before I usually have about 16 oz of water, during I have a bottle of water, but after I can't say I am more or less thirsty. I am only really thirsty after salt and alcohol which makes sense. I still drink of course to replenish, but mostly because I have to not because I need it or want it. Does this make sense?

Thanks for the reply @emili. I guess I should rephrase my question as follows.

Does anyone experience being really thirsty for water during the day to replenish water loss due to sweating from doing cardiovascular exercise?

Sweating like a pig??? I don't think pigs sweat through their skin in real life, LOL. I'm not sure of any mammal that sweats through their skin except humans but anyways, off topic. But yes, I too am drenched from sweating due to running which is why I have found that my intake of water has increased. I also drink liquids during a meal to wash down the food. I'd say there is a linear correlation between intense cardio activity over time and the amount of water loss due to sweating.

Your reply makes sense to me @emili.
