I bought some Apple & Cinnamon oatmeal, and I just ate a packet. It tastes way mooshy. It needs something sturdy to it, or something crunchy added. I also wouldn't mind being able to add chocolate to the oatmeal or something

I tried this out today and really liked it, but I did have to put in a little more sweetner than I typically use. Next time instead of sugar, I may try using some maple syrup.

My go-to oatmeal recipe is 1/2 cup old fashioned oats + 1 tbs chia seeds cooked in 1 cup vanilla soy milk (unsweetened). When it's done, add 1 tbs (or less) natural peanut butter and just enough maple syrup (or agave) to taste.

Oatmeal tastes great with raisins or cranberries .every bite has some sweetness and it's not unhealthy add calories. I also used a can of pumpkin in my oatmeal with raisins and that was good too!

Just buy the raw outmeal. 50 grams is enough for 1 portion add 350 ml soya milk or regular milk. A bit of honey, Choco nibbles, 1 apple chopped in small pieces and cook till it has the right thickness. Keep stirring. Add on top some nuts and banana slices that you chopped up and you have a very healthy breakfast or snack.
you can substitute apple with orange or pear it all tast great 😋

I agree that eating whole grain oatmeal and/or steel cut oatmeal is best. Cook 2 or 3 mornings worth ahead and add almond milk, berries, bananas, a few almonds or walnuts. It will hold you and you shouldn't get hungry til lunch. I cook ahead since I get up and go to the gym most mornings.

These are so delicious! I have zero time in the mornings to fix breakfast, and I came across this recipe about a month ago. Game changer! I make them in the jumbo muffin tins and have some on the counter right now. Just toss one in a Ziploc on the way out the door. They are easily adaptable with different nuts, fruits, etc. VERY filling. Try them!

Chopped almonds or granola are great to add to oatmeal if you are looking for an extra crunch. What I usually do is make plain oatmeal with a bit of honey for some added sweetness and I will add chopped almonds or granola, or any type of nut really to get an extra crunch. Then a dash of cinnamon and I'm good to go! I do as best as I can to stay away from the prepackaged kinds.

I make plain quick oatmeal on the stove because I like the consistency a whole lot better than the microwaved type. When the oats are done, I add a big heaping spoonful of peanut butter and stir it until it has melted then. Then I add a mashed up banana and a little honey, and it is freakin' delicious.
The other way I like it is with a jar/container of baby food bananas stirred in. And you can add chopped pecans or walnuts.

I cook oatmeal with milk. First put milk on the fire, then add oatmeal. Be sure to add vanilla sugar, raisins and a little butter. And it turns out very tasty oatmeal.

Old Fashioned Oats+a little extra water+1 scoop protein powder. No sugar needed, and you get your carbs, and protein both!

Overnight oats are really good too. Add about 1/3 to 1/2 cup rolled oats to a container, (I use a mason jar) 1/2 cup of water or almond milk, just enough to cover the oats and let sit over night or for a few hours. Then add honey, cinnamon and a banana on top and some kind of nut butter like almond butter or peanut butter and mix it well. There are tons of ways to do overnight oats but this is just how I like them. As long as you do the first step you ad anything you like to them. Very easy meal on the go.

Thanks Leanderford. Never thought of adding protein powder but it sure makes sense. Do you do this as you're cooking the oats or as overnight oats? Thanks.

I don't use instant, packaged oatmeal because it has so much sugar in it and seriously lacks nutrients fro the processing. I started adding pumpkin, pie spice, apple pie spice (with a TBSP of applesauce), and a TBSP of chopped walnuts. It is so delicious 🙂
