Hi @SunsetRunner
I know many people who do well on a keto diet. I also know some people that do not do well on it. If you haven't already consulted with your doctor, I would advise doing so. He/she might be able to provide some guidance.

I would for sure discuss your options with a dietician or do a ton of research from reliable sites. I for one am not a low carb believer, so I wouldn't recommend it to anyone. To Cathy's point- plenty of people are and do really well without any issues or side effects. It is a very individual preference and tolerance. Layering in a medical concern- I would for sure do a ton of research and consultation before starting.

Welcome to the Fitbit Community forums @SunsetRunner!
Let us know about your experience with this, I've seen many people on the forums that are interested in the Keto diet. However, as other have suggested here, since there's a health condition involved, I would also consul with a doctor or dietitian first to make sure you start with the right and balanced diet.
Best AnswerYou might want to try watching the Netflix documentary, Fat Fiction. It explores a lot of the research into the ADA diet and into the Keto diet and their histories. It is an interesting watch. It doesn’t specifically address hypothyroidism, but it might give you some food for thought.

You have to have lab work done and have a dr that can accurately diagnose and treat you if the results show hypo or hyper thyroid problems. Most general dr's do not know how to do this. Many will say that if you're "in the normal range" everything is fine. That's not always the case. An endocrinologist and naturopathic dr's are generally much better.
