Meal functionality on Fitbit Log

I didn't have the nutritional information regarding a recipe I am making this evening, so I plugged everything in in the Meal section of the log individually and have the total calories for everything.  When I go to add it to my log, it lists everything as if I ate all four servings.  Wouldn't it make more sense to create a meal, have it show on the log as one line and then say how much of it you had?

I'm sure it makes sense to say "I had a turkey sandwich", you click it and the lettuce, tomato, bread, turkey, etc all comes up, but what about meals you're making with your family that you're not eating all of?

Of course I can divide all of the individual items by 4 it just seemed more time consuming than showing one line, with a serving size of that meal.

Can you log what you at as  1/4 serving??

I can if I go through each ingredient and divide by four.  I was hoping I could put everything in and call it Dijon Pork Chops, I could click it for "Dinner" and just make it 0.25 serving.  It seems easier to have one line to change the serving rather than click it, have 8 items come up and have to divide each one by four.  I can do it but it doesn't seem to be efficient for Meal function.

I just finished a telephone call with Fitbit customer service. It was frustrating and did not prove fruitful. The issue: I created a meal and when I tried to log a portion of that meal in my breakfast, there is no functionality for it--either at the menu creation level or at the daily logging portion. The customer service representative tried to dummy-up a meal on her end to assist me. Kudos to her for her efforts, although it took her a long time to understand my issue. She thought the menu could be pulled from the "what I ate" drop down. I explained to her that it could only be pulled from "My Favorites."

In the end, she said I could either take each recipe and portion out the list of ingredients (seriously?) or go to My Fitness Pal and sync it to my Fitbit food log. She said the functionality was better with that app.

Again, I'm frustrated. Why isn't Fitbit addressing this issue?

Probably because there’s not much point in re-inventing the wheel: everybody says MyFitnessPal is better/more flexible for logging food, and it syncs with Fitbit, so if the built-in food logging isn’t adequate for your needs, just use MFP and have it sync to your Fitbit account.

I know, it's frustrating and I am sure Fitbit is not going to fix it, because their entire "meal planning" is a total failure.
What I do in this case is this:
1. I create the meal, entering all ingredients and quantities
2. I took note of the macronutrients breakdown
3. I create a new food with those macros, with the serving size I want (obviously calculating the right macro ratio)
4. Then I can log the single food

I know it takes a lot of work, but it is the only way to avoid having the full list.
