Prepping the Engine!

Hi all!  I've just started on a path of weight loss and lifestyle change.  Recently I also started a new routine of working out in the morning before work.  I am not a morning person and usually have to be up at least 1/2 hour before I can eat anything - my stomach just doesn't allow it.  However, I do wake up hungry and know that it is a good idea to have something in my stomach to start my engine.  So far it's been warm water with lemon and a few almonds but that gets old very fast.  Does anyone have any suggestions??

Welcome to the forums @Lynn1970! I second @redred1234's idea on making smoothies, not necessarily all fruit and veggie, but milk and protein too Cat Happy

I've started eating clif bars for breakfast as I'm usually running out the door in the morning. They taste great and have some good nutrients in them.

Welcome @Lynn1970, you are off to a great start on your path!

How about toast with peanut or almond butter? That's quick and easy. Or you could hardboil some eggs the night before and grab them and go. If you peel them ahead of time, you can even eat them during your commute.

I rarely eat before 1pm

If I'm on a protein day I'll have a shake around 11, another around 1 and a final one around 2/3

Then actual food for tea.

Skipping breakfast is fine as long you actualy skip it, you dont replace it with a four hour biscuit binge

I also agree with the idea of having a smoothie, however, you can also eat a piece of fruit (apple, banana, pear, strawberries) and some yogurt, that should help you get started. Robot Happy

Have you tried sprouts? Cut fruits, Cereal bars, Cereal.

Even left overs are great!

@Desidee Sprouts? Interesting, how does that taste? Do you mix it with something else?
