Quantities in recipes

When adding ingredients to a recipe, why can't I input a quantity? For example I was creating a recipe for my overnight oats which I do with yoghurt. It was easy to add the yoghurt as '1 pot' was an option on the dropdown but when I wanted to add 50g of porridge oats, I only had the option of '1 gram' and then had to increase the amount 1g at a time!! Typing in 50 grams was just ignored. I want to do this to get the nutrition values as previously I was just putting in the total calories having worked it out on MFP or similar.

Hey Joy1961, I added overnight oats to my foods also. This is what I do maybe it'll help. Go to log food and at the bottom of my foods it has edit my foods. I click on that and it takes me to a bunch of columns with nutrient info. I click on overnight oats and to the right I click on edit and enter the info in the appropriate column then go to bottom of page and hit save. You can put your cursor before the numbers you want to delete and hit backspace key to delete them. I love my overnight oats.

  Take care

That doesn't work for me. I WAS editing the recipe but when I hover on the quantity, I simply get a little +/- symbol in the corner which, when I click on it, adds 1 to the quantity. If I  click on the quantity, I just get a drop down which allows me to change the units (but no liquid measures). I did take screenshots but can't seem to add them to this reply

I was curious and I think the reason it doesn't work is because I do my logging on my desktop computer. I just tried entering info on my phone and it's the same as you described. They're different. Take care
