My husband is really into soft drinks. This past summer I replaced them by making pitchers of iced fruit teas, with a little honey for sweetness. Significantly less calories (none if you skip the honey) but refreshing and favorful. I cold steep my teas as follows:
2 tbsp loose leaf fruit tea.
Pour in 1 1/2 cups boiling water
let steep for 5-10 mins (if it is a fruit tea, not a regular. If using regular tea 3-5mins)
mix in 1/8 cup honey.
Pour in 4 cups of cold water/ Stir
(If using regular tea, you will need to remove it)
Store in fridges and enjoy.
Add lemon or sliced up fruit for variation.

@ponydoc Nice recipe for tea. I'd probably swap the honey out for saccharine to save on the calories.
In season, there's nothing better than a few fresh berries tossed in a tall glass of ice water.
If you have a mint plant growing, you can add a few mint leaves to the tea or water.
Sure wish it was summer right now!
Welcome to the forums and thanks for sharing that.
