Hello @Perrydactyl @Melmeow! Welcome to the Family!
I admire you guys, wish I could be a vegan, but is so hard for me because I don't really have time to cook, and I have to eat outside of my house most of the time, but I've been a happy vegetarian for 4 years now!
Check out this post about vegan and low carb recipes, here you can find some other vegan friends that are looking for recipes to share!
Btw, I'm getting hungry just by looking at this fabulous dishes, check them out and tell me what you think.
I'll be around. Happy stepping!

I'm vegan too and I have a few recipes saved on a Pintrest board you may be interested in. https://www.pinterest.com/soozowens/vegan-stuff/

Happy fitbitting 🙂

I came across Coconut Almond milk by SO Delicious. It has an amazing flavor and has only 50 calories per 8 fl oz. If you see a bottle, pick it up and try it! 😄

Props for being veg!
My partner and I have been for about 4 years now. It has been the food adventure of a lifetime! And I've been fitbitting for about a week and a half.
When we travel we like to go to "food destinations". We usually just find vegan friendly places and work lodging and activities around restaurants.
96% or our day to day meals are home prepared. In the warmer parts of the season, we belong to a CSA and get local, seasonal produce. The colder months are root veggies which eventually = meh.
Many of our favorite recipes come from ohsheglows.com, ppk.com, minimalistbaker.com as well as the CSA online portal

I do feel a lot better and I love the decisions I'm making! I make most of my own meals now and it feels good to know exactly what I'm putting in my body. It gives me a huge sense of responsibility for taking care of myself.

Hi! I've been vege for 7 years, and go back and forth with being vegan. We're trying hard to follow FOK very closely. Sometimes it's tough to stick to the program, but now that we're putting the baked goods and heavy foods of the Holidays behind us, it should be easier. So, bring on the rice and beans, kale and sweet potatoes!

Thank you SolangeFitbit! I've been stepping very lightly this evening after 2 days of working out-intensely. Back to 5 miles a day-12 minute miles. Juicing, smoothie-ing and sticking to Forks Over Knives. And you're right-no pain no gain!
Here's a great recipe-2 thumbs up!

Our New Year's celebration is going to be quiet-but fun nonetheless. I hope you enjoy your celebration as well! ❤️

Hi there, @dagucrew! Wow, you are doing great! Congrats! Juicing is always a good detox for your body!
OMG! thank you for sharing that delicious recipe! That's the first thing I'll do when I get home today.
Hey, I want to stop eating cheese as a first step for becoming a vegan, but it is so hard for me because I'm in love with cheese! Any suggestions or recommendations for my new challenge?
Happy stepping!

Hi SolangeFitbit! I was doing pretty well-then got benched by a terrible cold! I've been in bed for the past 3 days and before that just taking it easy. I haven't even bothered to log in because I've been on juice and broth for a few days-can't swallow! I'm feeling on the mend now though. Hopefully I'll be back to logging miles by Saturday!
That recipe was very good! We made sliders and I had mine on top of a salad. Delicious! Cheese is the toughest non-vegan item to give up! Eggs and meat have great replacements for texture and flavor, but cheese-and yogurt? The soy and nut replacements just don't do the job!
That being said, there are some decent vege cheeses to help bridge the gap. They melt pretty well and they are decent in Lasagna, on nachos, etc. Our local Sprouts sells a nut based cheese (I can't remember the name!) and I've also found the shredded Daiya a good sub for mozarella. Soya Kass is another good one, but not my top choice. I don't bother with the other super processed options. If you have the time and inclination there are some good homemade nut cheese recipes out there. The nacho cheese sauce from Forks Over Knives is awesome!

Aww, @dagucrew! I'm sorry to hear about your cold. Have you tried drinking honey, ginger and lemon tea? That's what gets me through when I feel kind of sick. Ginger will help you kill any bacteria that you may have in your throat Ugh, I know that feeling but you'll get better soon!
I know, give up to cheese and yogurt will be difficult, but not impossible. Hey thank you! I'll go look where can I find the Shreds Daiya, I hope I can find them where I live and not too expensive.
I hope you are feeling better!
