Vegan looking for vegan friends/recipes/support

Hi everybody! My name is Taylor and I just joined fitbit. I was just curious to see if there were any individuals here that share a similar lifestyle to me! Maybe we could exchange recipes and information!

I can assure you that was super yummy! Today I'm having a papaya shake with some oats, a watermelon salad, and some tea for breakfast.

What are you eating today? I wish you all a beautiful Sunday!

Hey, @SunsetRunner! That is such a healthy breakfast! I had some cereal today with soy milk, because I didn't had time to prepare something else. Cat Embarassed

How was your weekend?

Cereal with soy milk is so delicious @SolangeE! I always try to eat healthy, in fact, I'm trying to lose some fat and I'm doing it great thanks to this lifestyle. Guys on the gym are always asking me how can I do the amount of sport that I'm doing, and my answer is " I eat healthy" (I'm also wearing T-shirts with a vegan message). This guys take hundreds of pills and protein shakes, and in the other hand I take nothing 🙂

Here's a question for everybody in this thread, what do you eat the most? In my case I would say rice.

We grow our own food and at the moment the standing joke is 'what would you
like with your cucumber.' We've got them coming out the yangyang! That's
what we're eating the most at the moment; cucumber slices with salsa, with
tofu dip, with bean dip, on sandwiches, with garlic mayo... >_<

I used to eat a lot of rice and oats, too, but at the moment with the
garden veggies being so plentiful, grains are more of a garnish than a
staple. Have a great day, everyone. I'm off to collect cabbages and create
cole slaw for the fridge and stir-fries for the freezer.

Hello there lovely vegan beings! HeartHeartHeart I hope you are all doing great! @SunsetRunner, hahaha I love that you are so big and people may think that you are that kind of guy that takes pills and proteins, but the secret is actually that you are vegan. I would just love to see the faces on them when you tell them! People can be so annoying thinking or saying that if you become either vegetarian or vegan you will not be healthy or strong and that your body needs some meat to be ok. Man LOL

@stonetalker, OMG! That sounds beautiful. As soon as I have extra money I want to get a house in some place far from the city and grow my own food just like you! Cucumber is the BEST! It is delicious with everything and just alone also! So refreshing. 🙂 I am actually trying to loose it a little bit with the carbs, because I want to loose weight too!

Hey, it would be cool if you could share some pictures of your vegetable garden to inspire us more! Smiley Wink

I'd love to, but it's looking a bit tired at the moment haha. We've got
weeds all over the potato and kohlrabi bed, the cues are looking a bit
raggedy, the tomatoes aren't really doing much yet (lots of green but
nothing ripening), the raspberries have already fruited, the cabbages are
seriouisly ready to pick, as are the blackberreis and chokeberries, (I
missed the elderberries), the kale is doing well, it's too early for
Brussels sprouts, the peppers are a bit sorry for themeslves, the pears are
setting nicely but the apple trees and the plums need a serious prune...
Hit me up for next year, right? LOL

Wow @stonetalker that is just awesome! I love the fact you're growing your own food. As @SolangeE said, cucumber are the best 😉 My dad is also growing his own food, and I love being around him. He is so motivated about it that he never stops talking about his projects. He is helping an ecological organization in Central America as well and they do something they call "permaculture".

Yes @SolangeE I love being the big guy and change the point of view that people have about us. Now I remember in one movie Arnold Schwarzenegger said: " You hit like a vegetarian". Wanna know a funny fact? He's making some changes on his life to become a vegan.

I wish you all a wonderful day! Vegan hugs for everyone! Cat Very Happy

Hey, @stonetalker! Oh ok, I bet the gardening is making you sleep very well and tired. Man Wink Yeah, all plants are different and require different cares, like humidity, sun light, water, minerals, etc. It is just a matter of getting to know how they respond to all of this factors. How long ago did you started with your veggie garden?

@SunsetRunner, hahaha that is so cool! 🙂

We've lived here for 10 years, and the first thing we did was put in fruit
trees... 😉

Hey there, @stonetalker! What was your the first fruit that you ate from your fruit trees? My grandmother also has a beautiful garden, mostly flowers but she has some fruits as well, like lemon and avocatoes! hmmmm Delicious, I could survive just with these 2 my whole life! Heart

The first fruits were actually cherries from the Hanson cherry bushes (that
didn't survive the winter a few years ago), and raspberries (which we still
have, coming out the yangyang).
