I need to cut down on my fats but I eat nuts so I won't be hungry. Need to remain low carb. Any suggestions?

Hello, I like products from Steve Paleo Goods check out the website at stevesoriginal.com. I found the Paleo Krunch Traditional Recipe great tasting and very satisfying. It is a Grain less Granola Cereal so it doesn’t spike your sugar levels and it's a great energy source. The website offers a lot of other great products especially if you are looking to cut simple carbs from your diet. I am not associated with the company in any way, a friend passed the info to me so I'm sharing as well.
Check it out. Gene

I keep almonds and pistachios on hand. Every once in a while I eat cashews.

Although nuts are high in calorie- some being higher than others- don't limit yourself to just a few nut groups because they contain very different minerals and vitamins! Brazil nuts are one of the highest in cals but I eat two everyday to get my daily intake of selenium! But if you are really counting calories, pistachios and almonds are the way to go haha
Also, you might want to look into seeds too? Pumpkin and sunflower seeds (natural, unsalted) are also very high in protein too! Hope this helps 🙂

Pumpkin seeds on salads, and just eat them as a snack also. I use a mallet and smash up almonds (in a baggie to keep from going everywhere) and sprinkle this also on salads and tuna, or just about anything. I even splinkle on Veggies or yogurt. Almonds are great.

As a Strict Vegiterian I keep a wide variety of nuts available to snack on, I personally think Brazil Nuts and Almonds are the best

LCHFMom, thanks for the handy chart! I was an almond eater for a long time, but I have switched to pistachios and as this chart demonstrates, they are a good choice nutritionally. I wouldn't have thought to bring up chia seeds in this discussion. I like to mix them into a muesli/overnight oatmeal concoction that I eat for breakfast. Combine plain lowfat yogurt, rolled oats, some milk or almond milk, and a little honey to taste with a teaspoon or two of chia seeds. Let it sit in the fridge overnight for an instant breakfast the next morning. Delicious with berries or other fresh fruit.
