Our bodies, when hungry send a signal that it's hungry, needing more nourishment (nutritients).
When hungry, the body guides what and how much it wants when trying listening to. When giving the body what it craves for, possible eating less calories overall since giving the nutritients it needs in the moment, not needing more.
It may not always be easy but it's worth in the longer run.
If for example not really wanting pizza at dinner, but having the choice to eat something else what you really desire instead, not going to enjoy that pizza, and even when not hungry going to eat what you originally desired eventually (possible saving lots of calories in the longer run if allowing to eat what your body desires when possible)..
This also prevents binge eating (saving even more calories)..
Eating is to nourish the body, don't eat the foods you don't like & eat the foods you do like (unless being really hungry & the foods wanting to aren't available, seeing what you desire the most from any foods available), we don't need to starve ourself.
PS: Drinking by eating helps the body digesting the food more efficiently and helps transporting the nutritients through the body where it's needed most. The body can do this less efficiently when being dehydrated, not drinking enough can also lead to constipation.

I've been controlling my cravings and hunger for over 2 months now. The first 2 weeks to 1 month is the hardest. But once you only allow your body to intake low sugar, fat, sodium, and complex carb, the cravings and the false hunger stops. If you eat healthy, there's nothing that your body craves about healthy food besides energy. Cravings comes from eating sugary/salty foods/oily foods.
Some people say if they fully restrict themselves from comfort food they will binge later. If you doubt yourself like that then you are not fully comitted. You have to be mentally strong and crush your ego. I say once you've reach your goal weight and is disciplined enough to control your portion then you may eat those comfort food once in a while. Just not when you have a goal weight.

Sorry, I don't agree. Even people who follow clean eating usually allow 20% of items they consider not clean. To say that someone needs to not eat the foods they enjoy until they are at their goal weight is ridiculous. To call them not fully committed is frankly, somewhat insulting. Working in the items you like is more like your life will be when you reach your goal weight. In my opinion it is more disciplined to eat within your calories than to just follow some eating plan that you're going to ditch when you've lost your weight.
