Everyone who eats cottage cheese, swears how amazing it tastes. I bought some, and I cannot get over the taste or texture. How do you make it taste better? I would like to be able to mildly enjoy some.

Hello all! Cottage cheese is a great substitute for common cheese and spreadings one may use for meals throughout the day. Good thing is that it has less fat than cream cheese and it provides us with protein as well.
What I have been doing is mixing it up with different ingredients. Here you have my three top favorites and simplest (grinded herbs recommended):
If you would like to make a dip out of it, you can add natural yogurt.
Hope you all enjoy it. Regards!

I eat it with fruit or a spoonful of fruit preserves.

Hey guys, very interesting topic.
I found it a little strange at the beginning, but I usually grab a toast and I spread some home-made pesto on it, then I put the cottage cheese on top, and Voilà.
The pesto (just a little bit) definitely did the trick for me!

@DavideFitbit Yumm that sounds good I will have to try!
I think either you like it or you dont.
I love Cottage cheese and have it as a snack daily with some kind of fruit.

I like it and often mix in frozen berries.
A lot of people eat the nonfat version as a low calorie protein source. Nonfat seems to me to taste a little more tangy than 2% or 4% (generally comes in the same fat percentages as milk). If you like a less tangy taste you might try the 2 or 4% versions. The taste also varies brand to brand, and texture is a bit different depending on whether you get large or small curd.

It's not bad added to savoury overnight oats (add veggies instead of fruit). I have also used it for salad dressing.

i think that the major factor about how cottage cheese tastes like is simply what brand you buy. what brand of cottage do you usually buy? for me i had to try at least like 5-6 different types of cottage cheese before i found the cottage cheese i eat once-twice a week so just experiement as much as possible! im sure you will find your favorite cottage cheese brand in no time! i really like my cottage cheese with scrambled eggs.

I have found the brand has a lot to do with the taste. Of all the brands I have tried so far, Organic Valley is the only one I really like.
I like adding dill weed. it gives it a nice flavor.

I do happen to eat it plain. Each brand can have a slightly different flavor and the curd size might play a part as well. Some people add fruit but there are some recipes that include spices to make it a more savory flavor. Here are some recipes I have found on Taste of Home website. I hope this helps. Keep on trying or find another protein source (like yogurt).

There's something very pure and zen-like about a big unspoiled tray of cottage cheese.

Works great on a slice of wholemeal toast with added fresh chives and a sprinkle of black pepper.
