Hi Peeps,
I did this in May 2017. I had a thirst I could not quench after a very hot 1/2 marathon wearing fancy dress. Never to be repeated.
I share 'my mistake' out to others. To prevent anyone else doing the same.
Andover runner almost died drinking five litres of water.
It's been a year since Johanna Pakenham went into a coma after drinking almost five litres of water.
The marathon runner from Andover, Hampshire ran over the finish line of the London Marathon last year, to then be rushed to hospital hours later.
She had hyponatremia, a condition caused by drinking too much water, diluting all the salts and minerals in the body.
Ms Pakenham now wants people to understand the danger of drinking too much, but nutritionist Johanna Hignett says as a population, we don't drink enough.

Remember the lady who died trying to win a Wii system for her kids? Two gallons of water in three hours and it killed her. That was about 7.6 liters of water and the post above, the doctor who spoke said a female should have about 1.5 to 1.7 liters of water per day. How tragic and sad for her children and husband.
Just reminds us that overdoing anything can do more harm than good.

Hello @GrubbyDuck, thanks for sharing this information. This will definitely prevent others from making this mistake, which may not be obvious.
I usually drink 1.5 to 2.0 liters of water a day. That is still within the "safe" zone. Thanks again.
Regards

The amount of water consumed per day is different for each person. "Experts" may advise you to drink more water, because for themselves it is normal, but for you, it can be harmful. So this topic is very dangerous, and therefore very important.
