I'm not saying splurge like you normally would think of it. We're talking about doing Taco Bell for supper, and I've found that what I normally get puts me way over into the red. I was thinking about just doing a lot of calorie burns so that I have enough room in my reserves where this splurge won't hurt me.

Extra exercise would do it. You either have to cut the calories, or burn them. Doesn't really matter which. So go for that extra run or walk!!!

I "cheat" abut twice a week (and I eat a lot during thosemeals! I take full advantage of the opportunity lol) and I don't worry about it. I feel like it keeps my metabolism from going "flat"---I am pretty much in the maintenance phase with my weight though (although I did cheat while losing weight too and it didn't seem to hurt me). Just my 2 cents 🙂

If I'm going to splurge for dinner, I'll try to have a lighter breakfast and lunch. If I suspect I'l have a splurge day (like I'm going to a vegetarian festival next week and a vegan diner that I expect to be high in calories), I'll try to keep it light in the days before. If you haven't done that, perhaps you can try to take it easy for the next two or three days. Or find something less caloric at Taco Bell.

I do this as well----usually just eating fruit for breakfast the next day and a lighter lunch.
