Who else struggles with grazing behavior?

It's 2pm and this is what I've had today.  I don't feel like I've had a lot and I really want to keep munching.  But I DO NOT NEED to eat right now.  Here's what I've had from 10am until 2pm.

  • Bite of banana
  • Handful of dried cherries
  • 2 ounces of cheese and a cup of spinach
  • About ½ cup of leftover pasta
  • A snack bowl of cheese/nuts/fruit 180
  • 1 pretzel as in small from a bag, not a big soft one 🙂
  • Pineapple juice that I drained off a can of pineapple
  • A sliver of apple
  • A slice of apple

@suzimcm... Do you graze because you don't eat regular meals or do you graze from boredom? I know when I sit down to watch TV, I instantly want to munch because I am not doing anything, but through out the day, I am too busy moving around to stop and snack. I also eat a pretty good breakfast and lunch and dinner, so snacking is not needed to help me feel full. Maybe evaluate your "big" meals to see if you are eating enough and try to find things to keep you busy so food is not your first thought...

I am in a lot of pain, so much so that I can only do my chores in little bits here and there.  My walking is very difficult for several reasons.  So I do watch too much tv.  I try and journal and do other things, but it's still way too much down time.  I also think I reach for food to comfort myself over the pain.  So I don't eat regular meals. I find that if I eat bigger meals, I still snack.  So it's better to just snack.  But, I know I need to get a lot of weight off to make walking less painful.

I'm a MAJOR grazer, even when i eat full meals. I've found that when I limit my sugar intake (even natural sugars in fruits) i eventually feel more satisfied with my snacks. It seems like most of what you are snacking on has a pretty high sugar content. Maybe switch to nuts, jerkey, veggies, Nut Thins, sliced turkey & cheese, etc.
