At least one study has show that too much soy protein is linked to an increase in estrogen in males - where that threshold is for each man is not clear, so I avoid it when I can.
Isolate is reputed to be better than concentrate, but for the money, concentrate and blends of both are by far superior - unless you get a real bargain.
I use Body Fortress from Wal-Mart. It's the cheapest I've found. Winn Dixie recently had the same product on sale for 10 bucks, so I bought a bunch.
Certainly, there are other products that do a much better job being absorbed into the bloodstream, but I'm not trying to be Lou Ferrigno - just trying to increase my protein intake while lowering my calorie count.

several studies showed that soy is the best for weight loss, the forms ingested included: soy milk, tofu and protein powder. I think I saved them, can't get to it right now.

Have you tried hemp protein or Vega one? They are both really good options for vegans and thos with speical dietary restrictions 🙂

Whey proteins is best first thing in the morning and post-workout because it is one of the fastest absorbing proteins; so its good for muscle recovey. I really like the ones made by Optimum Nutrition and MRM. If you are considering a vegan protein, I would go with hemp because it absorbs faster than other plant-based proteins. Overall though, Vega One ( a blend of proteins and superfoods) is one of my faves because of its additonal nutritional benefits- with that I take just whenever because it's also delicious!! Hope this helps

I like LESS protein in my shake with half banana, crushed ice, Almond milk and Kale.
Keeps me full most of the day!
