how to cope with overeating?

Hi I'm new to this started yesterday very excited :))) just wondering any hints on learning not to over eat. As I'm typing this i got a nice plate of pasta that i made for lunch infront of me this is the second plate that I want to eat but know i shouldn't so I'm coping with this by filling up my 24oz water bottle and is currently drinking it hope by the time I'm finish with the bottle I will be too full to eat any more. What do you do if you're going for that second serving knowing you are over eating?

I have a the same issue with over eating. I do the exact same thing you are suggesting. What most people don't know is by eating smaller meals throughout the day, it keeps your metabolism up and keeps your blood sugar from dropping too low. After about 3-4 hours you body has worked through what you have eaten before and your blood sugar starts to drop. The key to the smaller meals is to watch calorie intake and eat health food, not junk food and empty calories.

So far I've lost 60lbs this is what has worked for me:

  • drink 8 cups of water a day(keeps you full)
  • start the day off with a homemade fruit/veggie smoothie for breakfast (by giving your body all the nutrients it curbs cravings)
  • preplan your meals (make sure you are loving the foods youre eating so youre not feeling deprived)
  • eat 3 meals with 2 protein rich snacks in between breakfast and lunch
  • make sure your meals are balanced.... otherwise youll be hungry and crave extra portion
  • try to eat your meals at the same time everyday... this will teach your body when to expect food

This has worked for me hope this works for you!

Whenever I cook, I make only enough for my boyfriend and I to eat. Unless I'm meal prepping, in which case I seperate all of the food into the correct portion sizes and store them in baggies and containers. So even when I'm tempted to grab an extra helping, I remind myself that if I eat it now then I won't be able to have it tomorrow or the next day. (I usually prep for about 4-5 days worth of food)
