Suddenly, while doing the same amount of exercise (approx 12k steps a day) my Active Zone Minutes have slumped from around 90 to 9. 3 days running, and no way to fix it, as far as I can see. I am returning my brand new Inspire 3 tomorrow. Very disappointing.

My Peak and Vigorous minutes stopped counting double on my Versa this week all of the sudden and it’s not brand new.

The difference in zone minutes is probably due to the firmware version that your Inspire 3 is running.
Inspire 3 devices are shipped with older firmware (194.96, I believe) and then the device will update itself to the latest 210.26 firmware after some period of time.
The 210.26 firmware uses a 'new and improved' Heart rate measurement algorithm that is claimed to be more accurate than the previous one was, but several people on the forum have expressed the same concerns and questions that you have. They may be calculating the Zone minutes differently now as well, but I don't know that for sure.

Interesting; App 4.30 and 4.32 were released recently, so maybe the Zone minute calculations changed in the App.

So, I shipped my brand new Inspire 3 back to Google/Fitbit today as the Active Zone Minutes were being chronically under-counted. (See my pre ious post.) I’ve re-fired up my old Inspire 2 and it’s working perfectly, Active Zone Minutes back to where they were. What a bizarre way to update a system. Has Google screwed up Fitbit?

Let's just say that Google appears to be struggling to maintain Fitbit's ability to develop and support fitness tracking devices.

I absolutely do not see the point with this Google integration particularly when things no longer work correctly. I don’t want to switch to Apple Watch, but I am getting more tempted.
