Alarm doesn't work with "Simpler" display, inspire 3

Alarm doesn't work when the display is set to "Simpler".

The screen doesn't light up and the inspire 3 doesn't vibrate when the alarm is supposed to go off.

I found that the alarm works properly when the display setting is changed to "Highlight".
