It seems that there are many attractive alternatives available for band for the Inspire 2, (scrunchies, bracelets etc..).

I am wondering if anyone can tell me if they will also work with the Inspire 3…

A bit late to the party, but my old original Inspire 1 band does fit in the Inspire 3. I was a bit disappointed at first when I heard previous model bands wouldn't fit, but I figured I would see for certain that it didn't fit, but lo and behold, it does fit. Even with the original pins. I think the 1 and 2 are the same size and form factor, so it wouldn't hurt to get an Inspire 2 band from Amazon to see, if you're ok with returns if it is not.

Welcome to the Fitbit community, @Marmarmarshall!

Fitbit Inspire 2 bands and clip accessory are not compatible with Inspire 3.
But there are some bands available for the Inspire 3 to choose from:

You're completely right that bands for the Inspire 1 are usable with the Inspire 2. Fitbit however did change the attachment mechanism for the Inspire 3.
In any case, using a third party band is use at own risk, as one cannot be sure if the band will keep securely mounted to Fitbit's attachment mechanism in the long run.

I understand why you are saying this, but I have first hand experience is that there is no difference in the shape, size, and mechanism of the bands from the Inspire 1 and the Inspire 3.  Both use the spring-loaded pin.  The ends of the bands that fit into the device are the same shape and size.  I successfully and securely put my Inspire 1 bands (original FitBit ones) onto my Inspire 3.  There is always a risk to use unofficial products, but I wanted to share that I had no issues using older bands on the newest Inspire which would open up a lot of options to many users.
