Just bought an Inspire 3 last month to replace a Garmin vivoki which is no longer made. I managed my calorie balance for years successfully with the vivoki. I'm only looking for step count and accurate conversion to calories burned daily. I clip the device to my waist as I do not like wearing the watch, so HR, SpO2, and other features are off. Height and weight are accurate in my app.
I pair with MyFitnessPal because it is important to me to see how my steps factor in to my calorie balance for the day. I'm sorely disappointed in the Fitbit as the calorie burn is overestimated to the point that it is not useful, leaves way too many calories left to "eat" that there is no way anyone would lose weight based on these calculations. I completely understand that Fitbit includes BMR in its "calories burned" on the app, but this has nothing to do with my complaint, which is how the Fitbit sends calories burned to MFP. As an aside, the fact that the Fitbit app does not explicitly show my exercise calories burned is also disappointing as a I would also want to see the calories I earn daily from steps separated out from my BMR burn. Feel like I just threw away almost $100 on this device.
I've read several reviews and entries on this and other forums with similar issues - why doesn't Fitbit listen to this feedback?

Did you set the Inspire 3 to 'Clip mode" so it is not trying to read heart rate and basing calorie burn from that?

I’m having the same issue. I’ve taken less than 800 steps so far today, but yet My Fitness Pal has that I’ve burned over 1000 calories! It only started doing this last week. I think it’s a bug, hopefully it will be fixed soon!!

Same thing happening with lose it. Started around 8/6-7. Anyone have feedback from Fitbit re: when they will resolve this issue?
