After reading a number of responses to this question elsewhere, I'm still confused.
Why does it show me being over budget multiple days in a row when my calorie output is above my calorie input (I'm intentionally running a caloric deficit)? In other words, why on the screen pictured here is it showing such a low output when I burn 1700+ calls just existing? Is Fitbit actually suggesting I burn more calories in exercise alone (regardless of resting caloric burn) than I'm taking in?

Hi, @Bpdoto, welcome to the community. You may find these articles of interest How does my Fitbit device calculate my daily activity? - Fitbit Help Centre (has a section on calorie burn) and How do I track my food with the Fitbit app? - Fitbit Help Centre explains calorie deficit. The graphs you posted show the deficit balance at that moment during your day. You may be more at home with the data displayed on the "Food" tile of your today screen. For example, as I write my budget graph is -
And the Food tile estimates it is below the (daily) target.
The balance here is a comparison of what you've eaten so far during the day with your anticipated burn for the day. FYG, I track my food/burn balance on another device & they closely match each other on the target distance.
I hope this helps, please post here again & let us know how you get on.
Cheers
