Can't create account after deleting

I am continuing the discussion started on this thread. I have no clue why it is locked.

I waited the 30 days after deleting and now it says I can't create an account because I deleted it. How do I fix this so my kid can use his FitBit?

Thanks for getting back to us and I apologize for the missinformation @ScottLindner. I'll be glad to continue assisting you.

I asked yesterday and got the information I provided to you but I asked again today and got something else.

Please remove the restrictions you have for your son and set up the Inspire 3. After completing the set up you can add the restrictions again and this should make the trick.

Let me know how it goes.

@ScottLindner   Fitbit started locking device help threads after 30 days of no activity.  I want to flag your thread to get a moderator to help you.  Can you concisely explain the steps you took from the start?  Were you using Family Link when your son got his Inspire 3?  Family Link seems to have an unintended consequence of preventing age appropriate children from adding "adult" devices?  Is Wyatt your son?

I am the father and Wyatt is my now 13 year old son. I uninstalled and re installed the FitBit app and in trying to log in selected his Google profile to login. Then this error pops up. He had a child account before for whatever child FitBit it was that he had. We didn't care about the data so I deleted his account thinking that would solve the previous problem described in the previous post linked above.

Waiting for the moderator to help solve this issue. I can't believe it is impossible for my son to use his rather expensive FitBit simply because he got older.

@LZeeW

I found this discussion which doesn't do anything to help with my situation. This is so horrid that my son still cannot use his adult FitBit because he had a child FitBit and then became of age.

I apologize for the delay in the response and thank you for your son's account inquiry @ScottLindner. I'm sorry to hear that he hasn't been able to use his Fitbit.

Thank you for sharing the link of the thread that you found. I understand how frustrating this could be an did you create a new adult account after deleting the child account? He won't be able to create a new child account since he's no longer younger than 13 years old.

I asked to a specialist on childs accounts about the image you sent in order to confirm if he has to create a new email address.

Thank you for your assistance and the heads up @LZeeW.

I don't understand. He IS 13 which is reflected by his Google account. I
did delete the account initially not understanding the cause of the issues.
Now I understand that is just part of the challenge in going from under 13
to over 13 with FitBit software. But we have waited well beyond the 30 days
after deleting his account and still cannot create a new FitBit account
that goes with his Google account. From reading in other discussions in
these forums it appears some FirBit staff have recommended creating a new
Google account which is an absurd suggestion. One thread suggested there
might be a way to reset the "account" somehow so he can create a new FitBit
account with his existing Google account. I tried linking to that but for
whatever reason it kept producing a different thread when I tried copying
the link.

Hi @ScottLindner. After investigating you should be able to create a Fitbit account for your son as an adult. And he can take advantage of his Inspire 3.

Please go to: How do I set up my Fitbit device?

We look forward to get you back on track.

Thank you. We were able to create his account in the FitBit app now but when we go to add a device it only shows children's Fitbits and not his Inspire3. I don't get what is wrong.

Thanks for getting back to us and for your reply @ScottLindner.

Since you created his account with his current age the Inspire 3 should appear as an option. Where are you guys located?

We are in Colorado Springs. I have uninstalled and reinstalled the app multiple times hoping it might be something left behind from the last try that gets flushed out.

Thanks for getting back to us and for indicating where you're located @ScottLindner.

We can try to convert your son's account to an adult account if he received an email indicating that he can convert his child account into an adult account. Did he receive an email in his inbox with the subject line "Ready to take charge of your Google Account?"

If he didn't receive the email I'll keep investigating about what we can do to give use to the Inspire 3.

Ah hah. We found that email. He didn't check his email often. It was not opened. We just walked through that to do the upgrade but the FitBit app still only shows youth models. My guess is we now need to do something with his app or his FitBit account now. Do I have to delete it and start all over again for FitBit to recognize him as an adult now?

No. We are not. Wyatt sent me a screenshot by text so I could post it here.

The thing is, his account is supervised. All of my son's accounts are. It gives me control as a parent and can help locate their location or lost phone. But why would FitBit be against that? I'm a little shocked the company took effort to block it and am hoping it doesn't mean how I'm reading it.
