I am trying to setup an Inspire 3 on my child's phone. Because her Google account is a child the only device options I get are kids fitbit. How do I do this so my child can use her Xmas gift?

Yes, same problem here. It's pretty ridiculous. So far I just assigned it to myself. My child won't be able to use the app on her device, unfortunately. I'm looking for a way to reassign or share the device, but can't find that.

Same issue. I don't understand why there is an age restriction mentioned in other comments. Just because the Google email is managed by a parent via family link, doesn't mean the kids watches are the only appropriate watches. And ... How about marketing the kids watches ... I didn't even realize kids versions existed.... Got it this as a gift from grandma. Now that it is opened, can't even return it ... What a crock!!!

Spah. How? What I ended up dojng was creating a new email and adjusting the age to 14. Since my kid is almost 13, family link will be useless in a year. Going to put some other tracker on her phone. That being said, she can now use all the functions of her watch. Any suggestions on another tracker app?

Hi there, @MDusky77 @spah @BJordan76. Thanks for stopping by in the Fitbit Community Forums. Thanks for bringing this to my attention. I'm sorry to hear that you cannot set up your children's Fitbit devices. I understand your concern.
As you already know, if your children are under 13, that would be the reason why you all cannot set up the Fitbit devices. Your children must be 13 or older to use a Fitbit device.
If they are older than 13, I'd recommend checking if your mobile device meets the requirements to properly operate with your Fitbit device. For more information, see Fitbit Compatible Devices.
Also, please follow all troubleshooting steps provided in this help article Why can't I set up my Fitbit device?
Was my post helpful? Give it a thumbs up to show your appreciation! Of course, if this was the answer you were looking for, don't forget to make it the Best Answer! Als...

Hi, my daughter got an Inspire 3 for Christmas. We have attempted to sync the Inspire 3 to her Fitbit app but keep getting an error message. The watch is fully charged. The latest Fitbit app has been downloaded. The error message "Something went wrong..." appears when the app is "Searching for your Inspire 3..." the watch is sitting beside the iPhone. We have repeated the same steps multiple times and are stopped at the same step all times. Please assist. The same error message happens when we use a "parent" iPhone. This seems to be known issue. Please help.

Unfortunately your answer is not entirely correct or helpful. I to purchased an Inspire 3 for my kiddo. The child assigned fit bits do not meet the intended needs for kids who are in competative sports and have their own goals. Now google owns fitbit. Googles own family link. My kiddo over 13 wants to continue supervision on their phone AND use a fitbit. Your own algorithm makes us choose between supervision that they want and using an age appropriate feature appropriate item that was already purchased. I recommend allowing all fitbit use for age 13 and regardless of supervision status on family link. Frankly it is odd that your business has decided to make families (or rather children themselves) choose between safey features and use of paid for appropriately used items. Please fix your policies and coding.

Fitbit really needs to fix this. If it linked to our family account it should be able to connect. The ace is to little kid style for my pre teen. I'm very discouraged and probably will return since this will not function as intended.
