I connected my fitbit inspire 3 to a work phone, which i cannot use any longer, and had to hand into the company. I am now trying to connect my fitbit to a different phone and it fails. I didn;t removed the connection to my old work phone, which I don;t have access to. What can I do?

@galed Hi. It doesn't matter that you didn't disconnect from the old phone. I have the app on 5 phones currently. How is it failing? You downloaded the app and signed on to it with the same log on as the old one?

As our friend MarkMM mentioned, changing phones should not be an issue. But it can affect some features,when both or more phones connected are near the Fitbit device (eg syncing, notifications, etc) .
If you are still having difficulties try these steps, some you have already done, but the order is important:
Try to sync the Inspire 3 again by swiping down the dashboard in the Fitbit app
