Continued issues post firmware upgrade

  • @LizzyFitbit closed down the thread on this topic earlier this week, claiming that the "majority of users upgraded without any issues". So, those of us who did have issue don't matter? I am sure there are also a large number of people who didn't comment on the thread because
  • they aren't the type to give feedback
  • they didn't know this form exists
  • they just moved to another watch
  • they attributed the change to a change in their HR

I thought it was improving but at the end of last week the problems reappeared, with me losing around 9 -12 minutes in every morning walk which apparently weren't in the "active zone". I reset my Inspire but the problem persisted so yesterday I manually changed my heart rate zones. It still didn't count 9 minutes! Then I was on the elliptical trainer in the gym for 10 minutes during which time I checked my Inspire constantly. With the exception of the first minute, I was in the vigorous zone ie I should have been clocking double minutes, but somehow I only ended up with 14 active zone minutes.

I've raised this via X/twitter as well but who wants to take a bet that the answer will be to ask Santa for a new one?!

I have found this forum to be very useful for helping me to debug issues that my wife and I have had with our Inspire 3 devices but this is an information sharing platform that has unfortunately morphed into a replacement for an incredibly bad Google Customer Service organization.

I didn't know about this forum until a Google Customer Service representative sent me here to help resolve a problem that they were unable to address, and then they stopped communicating with me altogether after that.  I am now experiencing the same Customer Service issue with my wife's Charge 6 device, because the ECG PDF download functionality isn't working and they remain totally silent on that issue as well.

The Moderators on these forums do a pretty good job keeping the information flow properly managed and relevant in my opinion, but it is not their job to take up the slack for Google's dysfunctional Customer Service organization.

They closed a reply about the broken app this week saying it's fixed?!?!  When a bunch of stuff is broken again?!?!  I had been syncing active minutes and hourly steps successfully again for such a short time, and now with the appearance of "Cardio load" both these features are broken again in the app.  I have 6 hours registered on my device for hourly activity and 0 in the app, and 0 active minutes even though I walked for 30 straight.  Goose eggs everywhere I look in the app. It's possible it may periodically be synching these metrics when worn on my wrist, but I have never had to wear on my wrist for these features to function, and the hourly activity clearly still functions on my device.  And if these metrics do synch any values other than zero at any point, they're gone by the end of the day.  And yes, I'm asking it over and over and over and over again to refresh the synch with no resolution.  And I've checked and found no more updates available for the app or my device.  Inspire 3 does not offer any clock faces that display active minutes, which I still consider broken as well.  If the device counts it, show it to me!  This is the newest Inspire product, one of the only Fitbits that offers an option not to be worn as a watch, and you fitbit/google just keep ruining the use of it.  Google, get your act together!

It appears that the new heart rate measurement algorithm is causing abnormally low heart rate readings that can last at least 10 minutes, leading to receiving invalid low heart rate notifications.

I reported this issue on the Android App forum, but the issue is probably related to the latest 210.26 FW upgrade.

I have two Inspire 3s. I am retiring them. After the latest firmware update they simply don’t work. The other day it logged 430 zone minutes. This was a day when I worked out for an hour in the morning.

i *do* know what 300 zone minutes feels like, a 25 mile, six hour paddle around Ko’olave. Saturday wasn’t it.

I wish they would fix it because I really liked the tracker.
