I customize my maximum heart rate on my new Luxe & just learned that vibration notifications for my heart rate at fat burn, cardio, & peak do not work. It only works at the default maximum heart rate. I also no longer get vibration when I hit 10,000 steps.
On the Inspire 3, does anyone know if your tracker will vibrate at fat burn, cardio & peak when you customize your maximum heart rate? If so, I will buy one. Thanks!

Hi, @NewSuttonGirl , the restriction that you will not get heart rate notifications during exercise if you have set custom heart rate zones is not tracker specific. If you set custom heart rate zones NO Fitbit tracker or smartwatch will give you heart rate notifications during exercise.
I think you may have misunderstood my earlier answer to you on your other post. If you do not set custom heart rates your Fitbit will vibrate as you move through the zones - so you will get a notification when you are in fat burn, a notification for cardio, and a notification for peak. Basically you will get a notification each time you move into a different zone when your exercise app is activated as long as heart rate notifications are turned on.
If you are not getting a notification when you achieve 10,000 steps please check in your app to make sure that you have set steps as your main goal and that the goal number of steps is 10,000. On your app on the opening screen click on the person photo/icon top left to take you to the Account screen. On the Account screen scroll down and click on “Activity and Wellness” and then choose “Daily activity”. Under steps make sure it says 10,000.
Next click the back arrows to return to the account screen and click on your Fitbit (In your case Luxe). On the Luxe screen please check that your Main Goal is set to steps.
Whenever you make any changes in your app, be sure to sync your Fitbit!
Once you have set all this you should now receive a celebration when you reach 10,000 steps.
Tip: if you want to test this quickly, set your Daily Activity to a much smaller number of steps and then see if your goal celebration goes off (but do make sure you have synced after making the change!). Once you have tested and confirmed that it is all working, you can change your goal back to 10,000.
I hope this is all clear now. I apologise that I did not address the step goal issue in your previous post - I was focusing on the heart rate notifications! I will go back and edit my reply to you so that all the information is in one place in case any other users have the same questions as you and are looking for answers.

I just looked at your other thread about this, and I think you are confusing a bout the notifications. As I believe it was @Julia_G explained to you how to get the vibrations and you followed, but then you sounded like you were expecting notifications to pop up. Notifications are not going to "pop up" on any model. But you can get vibration alerts on the Luxe or on the Inspire 3.

@JohnnyRow , Thank you for your help .
@NewSuttonGirl , Nice to see you around. Thank you for your message.
The Inspire 3 will notify you when we detect that your heart rate is outside of your high or low thresholds while you appear to be inactive for at least 10 minutes. More about this, can be read here: What are heart-rate notifications?
Besides that, during an exercise, you'll also receive notifications, when you change the heart rate zone (cardio, fat burn, peak zone). More info can be found here: How do I see heart-zone notifications on my Fitbit device?
Regarding to the Luxe: does it vibrate when receiving notifications, and if you set up a silent alarm?
Have you tried restarting it?
Make sure that the heart zones notifications are on: Can I turn zone notifications on or off on my Fitbit device?
Also verify that your goal are still set to 10k steps How do I change my main goal on my Fitbit device?

JohnnyRow, Julia was right. She gave me instructions on how to set up the luxe to vibrate when I’m doing an exercise and reach fat burn, Cardio, and peak heart rates. She said, however that because I have customized the maximum heart rate, the luxe will NOT vibrate when my heart rate goes up to those three levels. That is a problem. She said it will only work on the default heart rate. She is right.
This is why I want to know if the Inspire 3 has the functionality to vibrate while exercising when my heart rate goes up to fat burn, cardio, etc. when I have customized a maximum heart rate that is lower than the default. I don’t care about “notifications” as I don’t want texts or emails. I am talking about the vibrate function while exercising with a lower maximum heart rate than the default. I need to know when it hits fat burn, cardio, and peak.

Hi JuanFitbit. Thanks so much. So to confirm, with a customized maximum heart rate that is lower than the default, the Inspire 3 WILL vibrate when reaching fat burn, cardio, peak & 10,000 steps?
On the luxe, I don’t have notifications set up because I don’t want to receive email or texts so I can’t say whether it vibrates. I will say that when my maximum heart was the default number, the Luxe vibrated when I hit 10,000 or 20,000 steps and when my heart rate moved from fat burn, to cardio, to peak or in the opposite direction when I have slowed down my exercise.
I just followed your instructions to restart the Luxe and to make sure that 10,000 steps is my daily goal. I saw that there was a 10,000 step goal and there were other goals too like Active Zone Minutes & Distance that were preset that I did not enter myself. I just did a 5 minute speed walk exercise and the vibrations did not return when I reached fat burn, cardio & peak. Someone else on the luxe thread said that when the maximum heart rate is customized, the vibrations will not work. So far, that seems to be the case. What else can I do to get the vibrations to come back as my heart rate increases all the way up to peak? I restarted like you suggested. If nothing can be done and you say that the inspire 3 WILL VIBRATE all the way up to peak when the maximum heart rate is customized, this will convince me to get the Inspire 3. Again, many thanks for your assistance.

@Julia_G , Nice to see you here. Thank you for being so helpful and trying to explain everything so careful .
@NewSuttonGirl , Thank you for your reply.
Actually, the heart rate zones, and heart rate notifications, should work even if you customized your heart rate thresholds and your heart rate zones (on all devices with the feature available. )
Keep in mind, that the heart zone notifications, will be only shown on the Fitbit if you started to record an activity.
This is the first time, that I hear, that these notifications do not work after customizing the info.
@Julia_G , when did you notice this, with the customized info?
Does this happens if you update the info on an Android or iOS device?
@NewSuttonGirl , could you place an alarm on your Luxe an verify if it vibrates when it goes on? This is just to make sure that the vibration is working at all on your Fitbit.

Julia, you are so kind to go over everything with me. Thank you. I just wanted to let you know that I had had a Charge 4 for nearly 2 years before it broke a few weeks ago. I had the customized maximum heart rate set up along with my 10,000 steps as my daily main goal. The vibrate function WORKED when I changed heart rate zones (fat burn, cardio, peak) and when I reached my step goal, even though my maximum heart rate was customized to a # my Cardiologist wants for me. It even vibrated when I got to 20,000 steps! I assumed that the vibration would work with the Luxe. So it sounds like vibration no longer works for newer Fitbit trackers when there is a customized maximum heart rate?
So just now I got rid of my customized maximum heart rate so now it’s on default. I followed your instructions to lower my daily steps to 100 more than I was currently at. I synced the app & Luxe. I just did a 10 minute walk. The vibration still did not work when my heart rate zones went to fat burn & cardio (under the default maximum heart rate, it never made it to peak) and when I went over the new daily step goal I set up temporarily. So I give up. Even on default, nothing happened. 😢
I am at least happy that the vibration works when I set an alarm to wake me up in the morning!

@JuanFitbit if you go to the Fitbit app and click on Activity and Wellness (it’s on the Account screen) and then “Heart Rate settings” and then “Heart Rate Zones” you will see a note at the bottom of the screen in the app that says “If you set a custom zone, you won’t get on-wrist notifications during exercise”.
This is NOT a tracker specific note. This is for all Fitbits. I have not actually tested this myself - I avoided setting a custom rate because I want the notifications! But I have trusted the information in the app. It is not specific to either iOS or Android.
So I think your answer to the OP that she should still get notifications with a custom setting is incorrect.
Ps the OP has already mentioned that vibrations work as she has confirmed that her alarms work.

Hi, @NewSuttonGirl , if you set your goal lower than you already had, then you won’t get the vibration when you reach your goal, because you already reached it! To test this properly you need to set a goal that is MORE than you have already (but little enough that you can test it quickly) and then go out and reach it. But be sure to sync your Fitbit first.
I am pretty sure you are wrong about custom heart rates. I have had a Fitbit since the first heart rate devices were produced and certainly ever since I have had one they had many fewer features available if you wanted to set custom heart rate levels. But I won’t absolutely swear to this. All I can tell you is, at least according to the app, the notifications will not work if you set up custom zones.
If you remove custom zones the heart rate alerts will work but only if you start an exercise. They won’t work when you are just walking about. That is not available on any Fitbit.

@Julia_G , Thank you for your reply and providing the path for the note.
You are correct. Was just wondering, this must have been added to an update that I wasn't aware of. This will affect only the heart zone notifications. Should not affect the heart rate (high/low) notifications.
@NewSuttonGirl , after corroborating the info from Julia_G . She is totally right about the custom heart rate.
As she mentioned. this is not model specific. This means that the Inspire 3 will be behaving like the Luxe if you use the custom heart zone option.

@JuanFitbit my best guess is that it will also affect the heart rate high notifications if you set a maximum heart rate lower than Fitbit expects. But I haven’t confirmed.

Thank you both. Since I now know it’s not possible with the inspire 3, I returned to the Luxe forum to ask further questions about that. Again, thank you both so much.
It sounds like if I get a charge 6 when it comes out, it will have the same limitations regarding vibrations and customized maximum heart rate. It did work on the.Charge 4. I wish it had not broken.
