Failed Clockface Sync and now Fitbit Inspire 3 doesn't function

As title - I just got my Fitbit Inspire 3  yesterday, did the waiting update, went to change clock face - got a message that the sync had failed and now it is blank and non responsive.

 

I have tried resetting by holding the sides for ten seconds whilst being connected to a charger - the Fitbit logo flashes on the screen then disappears and the issue remains.

 

I have seen this issue pop up a few times across forums In my brief searches but I have not seen any solution...  any ideas? is there a way to factory reset without the screen? it does not connect to my phone (Iphone 13 mini).

Return it for a refund ASAP.  Inspire 3 is defective.
