Fitbit inspire 3 won't connect to phone

My daughter hasn't synced her inspire 3 to her phone for 25 days. When we try and do it now it doesn't work

 We have:

Checked app and phone software is up to date

Restarted phone

Restarted fitbit

Deleted the the tracker as a device in the app

Uninstalled the app

Reinstalled the app and now when trying to add the device it gets stuck on connecting. I get as far as entering the 4 digit code off the fitbit into the app then it just gets stuck and says

Setup is taking longer than usual.

 

Device is only a few months old.

Can anyone help

No help.  I just have the same problem. Now the phone isn't even detecting the Inspire 3 after I unpaired and tried to reinstall.   I don't even get the 4 digit code.

Syncing the Inspire 3 device to the phone can be very problematic but, if you actually got to the point of entering the 4 digit code and it failed there, then I would suspect an issue with the Bluetooth module in the device.

Have you tried to start the setup process completely over yet?

  • Uninstall app
  • Restart phone
  • If your phone shows that it is BT paired with the Inspire 3 device, unpaired it
  • Put the Inspire 3 device into the charging cradle and push/hold both side buttons for at least 10 seconds to complete a Factory Reset of the device.  Doing this should display a Fitbit icon, with a message to install the app
  • Reinstall the app
  • Complete the setup of the device

ThanksI got it sorted in the end by disconnecting all other devices that were connected to the phone via blue toothSent from my Galaxy

Try the complete sequence above to see if that helps. 

The app has known issues with syncing to Fitbit devices, so it takes a few tries at times.

Interesting.  I seem to recall a post from one of the moderators with this suggestion, so there must be something to it.
