Fitbit not recording heart rate

ANSWERED

My Fitbit inspire 3, which I just bought, will not track my heart rate. I have all permissions on the Fitbit app on my phone turned on for heart rate, as well as on the actual Fitbit. All I'm getting are two dashes next to the heart rate icon on the watch. There appears to be no firmware updates available. The green sensor light is active, just doing nothing I guess. Also, I don't know if this is related, but it's also not tracking my zone minutes, even though permission is allowed on each device, and I know I have them. I switched from the inspire 2 to the 3 literally today, so I can SEE the zone minutes my 2 recorded. Any advice is appreciated!

Hi, thank you for the reply! It's been on the "on wrist" setting the whole time, as well as the HR switch being on in the watch, still no readings. It's also not synching very well? And there's a very large discrepancy between steps counted on the watch and steps shown in the Fitbit app? I have no idea what's wrong with it. No updates available.

Hi, @Mostromek, welcome to the community. May I suggest you review the settings on your Inspire 3, one may have inadvertently been missed when you checked. From the clock face, screen swipe down x 5 to an icon that should say "worn on wrist". If it says "clipped on body" tap it, swipe up & confirm the change to "worn on wrist". Swipe down to settings, then swipe up to Heart Rate & ensure the slider is in the "on" position. The green LED should be flickering rapidly (but it stops if the device is not against your wrist). Place it on your wrist and secure the band, your HR should appear in about 5 seconds (depending on the clock face you are using & the setting).

I hope this helps, please post here again & let us know how you get on.

Cheers

Yeah, I figured it out. It wouldn't track because I have tattoos on my arm and wrist. Which, by the way, was NEVER an issue with my inspire 2. So, if you have tattoos on your wrist, good luck I guess. 0/10 for this product, which I know isn't the point of the forum, but figured it was worth mentioning because I'm annoyed and petty.
