My Fitbit steps appear on my Fitbit and on my Fitbit app. But they won’t appear on my iPhone health app. I’ve done everything and still nothing works. I also am connected to a challenge app called CountIt and the steps are tracking there. But for whatever reason, they don’t track or sync to my health app on my iPhone.
I also noticed that the steps logged on my Fitbit app are not the same as the ones tracked on my Fitbit. How can I resolve both of these issues? Thank you

There is at least one 3rd party app (I forgot what it's called) that says it can export Fitbit steps to Apple Health. I downloaded it but it wanted so many permissions (e.g., access to my contact list) that I deleted it. There's no reason for that app needed access to my contacts to do what it was supposed to do.

But this shouldn’t be the case, right? Shouldn’t Fitbit sync to the health app? Or is this just not a functionality of Fitbit generally? Does anyone know?

Apple wants you to buy a $400 Apple watch. They have no incentive to make it easy for you to transfer your Fitbit data to an Apple program.
