Heart rate much lower after update

After a recent firmware update my Inspire 3 shows my heart rate to be under 100 bpm when exercising, barely peaking at 90. A few days ago the same exercises put my heart rate well over 120. No change in how I wear my device.

It's good to see you participating in the forums @mattbrat1

Thank you for taking the time to share the information regarding this difficulty with your Inspire 3.

I'd recommend restarting your Inspire 3. For more information, see How do I restart my Fitbit device?

If the above doesn't help, I'd suggest resetting the heart rate settings by following the steps below:

  • Switch the Heart Rate settings from On to Off and manually sync your watch. To switch the heart rate settings on your Inspire 3, from the main screen of your Fitbit device, open the Settings app > Heart Rate > tap to turn the setting OFF.
  • Once it's done, manually sync your Inspire 3. To do so, open the Fitbit app, tap on the Account icon, tap on your Fitbit device's image and tap on "Sync Now"
  • Next, switch it from Off to On and manually sync your Inspire 3 once again.
  • Once it's done, restart your Inspire 3.
  • Next, confirm that your tracker is snug on your wrist (the lights shouldn't be visible). We also recommend when you're not exercising, wear the tracker just above the wrist bone.

@mattbrat1   Firmware version 210.26 changed the heart rate algorithm.  Help article  I'm not sure the moderator's suggestions will help you.

Thanks for confirming that. When running for at least 20 minutes, it tracks well. For other exercises, like weights, pull-ups, push-ups, etc., it was barely tracking any increase in my heart rate. I wear the device as recommended, a finger or two above the wrist, with a slightly tighter fit when exercising. I've followed the advice to turn heart rate on/off, sync, and restart. Hopefully, that will provide some consistency.
