Hi-
Had an Inspire (original) until recently, and it worked almost flawlessly. Just upgraded to an Inspire 3, and suddenly my hourly step count isn't being recorded appropriately.
For reference, I wear it on my wrist at night to record my sleep. When I wake up, I turn off HR and wear it on a clip. (My old Inspire didn't have HR so it lived on the clip.)
The first screenshot shows my last day with my old Inspire:
This is from yesterday. It only recorded my "steps" (really movements in bed and when I first woke up around 7:30 before switching it back to the clip) when it was on my wrist and the HR feature was on.
Fitbit, this is absurd. If my old Inspire could count steps without HR, why can't this one?

Hi, @outatime , your Inspire 3 definitely is able to count steps with the heart rate off!
When you have it “on clip” where are you wearing it on your body? (That is more likely to be the issue as the step counter is independent of the HR detection.)
Sense, Charge 5, Inspire 2; iOS and Android

I have it clipped to my waist. However, it's still on wrist mode, because it won't auto-track my exercise if I don't. My old Inspire would track hourly steps if I wore it on my waist but kept it set to "wrist."
Even now, when I'm exercising (e.g. walking/running) and it's auto-tracking, those several thousand steps done within an hour still aren't counted as hourly.
This seems like a huge flaw in the tracker firmware if it worked okay with the Inspire 1 but not 3. 😐
