Hello,

can someone  please tell me how I can set calories burned on my Fitbit inspire 3, I don’t want my resting calories just what I’ve burned from energy used throughout the day.

Hi there, @Lillis123. Welcome to the Fitbit Community Forums. I will be more than glad to help you with your inquiry!

As a first approach, may I know if you're a new Fitbit user? If so, please note that the value that you see on your Inspire 3 and Fitbit app after setting it up is your estimated calorie burn for the day so far.

We estimate your calorie burn based on your age, gender, height and weight. You burning calories even when you are sleeping or just sedentary. When you are not wearing your Fitbit then it is estimate your passive calories burned. That is what you see on the Fitbit app after the set up.

It then populates your profile with this calorie burn back for six months or so (even more) to give you a sensible baseline against which to compare your future calorie burn once your Inspire 3 starts tracking your exercise and adding exercise calories to your BMR calories. What you're seeing is an expected behavior and the calorie counts are individualized to you. The only time when you'll see your Inspire 3 starts from zero with the calories burned is just right after midnight, however, minutes later it will start showing a few calories and this will be due to your BMR.

With the above said, please note that you cannot separate your BMR from the calories you burn while exercising, they both are combine and added up to your Fitbit Inspire 3.

Hope this clarifies your doubt. I'll be around if you need anything else!
