My 10 year old received an Inspire 3 for Christmas. I don't seem to be able to set them up on it as the only option is to use their Google account which only allows them to use the kids fitbits. Setting up without Google parental controls is impossible. I don't need parental controls on his Fitbit so fine not for it to be under parent manager but I can't find any way to do this. It doesn't mention anywhere on packaging that can't be used by kids? Baffled as these are actively marketed to young people but are unusable.

Hello @LizLondon and welcome to the Community. I'm sorry, but a child must be 13 and older (16 and older in some countries) to use an Inspire 3. The issue is children's online privacy protection laws. The Inspire 3, like all 'adult' Fitbits, has a web based account that isn't compliant with US and international children's privacy protection laws. You child can't use an Inspire 3 for the same reason they can't have a Facebook or Instagram account.

I think the major issue with this is that that information is not available anywhere on the packaging or in marketing material. Fitbit isn't Facebook - it's not an obvious comparison. You have to buy the product and open the packaging (making it unreturnable) to find this information out. Nowhere are they marketed for adults only. The kids ones are for little kids.
