How do I turn off cardio load notifications?

How can I stop my fit bit app from giving the absolutely awful messages about my cardio fitness and activity . It is truly toxic. It shames you for a day of rest , it constantly nags you to do more and more. It makes me not want to open the app .

I shouldn't feel bullied by a device , but maintaing my weight and fitness level  ( resting heart rate 49 at age 56 @ 8.4 stone 5ft 5 ) is a tightrope of mental health and battling eating and exercising disorders  How can I turn this off ?

Thank you

Hi there, @Idris1. Welcome to the Fitbit Community Forums.

I understand how frustrating this can be and appreciate your efforts while working on this. I wanted to let you know that this issue has already been escalated to our team, and they're actively working to implement a solution for all of our members.

Please note that we cannot provide an exact time frame for the fix at this moment.

Hi, @Idris1, If notifications, generally, are a concern have you tried turning them off in the Fitbit app settings? You do not mention the make, model or OS of your cellphone, if you have an Android phone go to phone settings>apps>all apps>Fitbit>notifications & turn "All notifications" off. I appreciate this may not be what you want but while waiting for a fix it may give you some peace.

I hope this helps.

Cheers

Hi @Idris1 ,

I too have found that it is nearly impossible to make the Cardio Load function happy, so I have chosen to ignore it for now.

The Cardio Load function looks at your last 7 days of cardio and compares that against the cardio over the last month to determine the cardio load targets, so one thing that you can try doing for now is to tap the Cardio Load tile, scroll down to where it asks to set your Fitness Target and then make sure that it is set to 'Maintain', instead of 'Improve'.  That's what I did, but it is too early to tell if that will help to level out the daily Cardio Load targets and reduce the number of messages telling me how sedentary I am.

I'm sorry to say I'm glad it's just not me , the constant nagging messages despite doing nearly 20,000 steps a day ( a run in the morning , 30 mins of cardio then a full day of work as a kitchen manager and cook , to be told by this daft AI I need to do more is realy sole destroying.  Thank you for your reply . I feel for you . I hope they fix the thing soon . 👍🏻

Hi fitbit peep

I hope they can just turn the bossy pushy thing off , I am well aware of my challenges as an over exerciser . I don't need things that should serve me chritising me for taking a day off , gods forbid if I should become unwell . It would hit the roof. Thank you for your reply

I feel the same way! I just posted this about the other day and got no responses but I guess it’s because I didn’t frame it as a question and just wanted commiseration 😅

One thing that I've noticed is that I am getting fewer cardio points after taking the exact same 3-mile walk, at the same pace, over time.  That increases the probability of getting a 'risk of undertraining' message, but it's actually an indicator that my cardio fitness has been improving.

I am glad I found this question and responses.  I have noticed the same issues with the cardio load being inconsistent with the same exercise. One day I do a 5k run on a treadmill and get 60 cardio points(?) The next say that same warm up only gets 19 points. Exasperating
