How to keep the HR data all the time on Inspire 3

Hi there,

Just bought an Inspire 3, still figuring it out! I'd like to be able to have the realtime HR showing on the watch (and not disappearing) so I can manage interval cardio training on an elliptical. I'm supposed to be between 120 bps (20 seconds) and 103 bps (60 seconds) for 20 minutes, and I'm so incredibly confused by how to control that information... Any suggestions?

Or, and I hate to put this out there...but do I maybe have the wrong watch for what I'm trying to do?

Hi, @luluzalibi , welcome to the community. You will find that depending on the clock face you are using there will be a register on the screen that offers data Steps-HR-AZM which you can toggle through by taping the screen. Once you have the HR on the display it will remain there unless you tap the screen again. Explore the clock face settings in the Fitbit app on your phone for details. So far as the screen illumination is concerned this is best set to light up at the twist of your wrist, it saves juice and the display should re-illuminate where you last set it.

I hope this helps but if you are still stuck please post here again.

Cheers

Hi @Gr4ndp4 , thanks for your quick answer! So I'm using the default clock face for the Inspire 3 (Highlight), which is below in a screenshot. What I noticed is that even if I tap on it to scroll through the icons to show the 🖤 one, even with Display set to Always On, the 🖤 icon disappears and i have to twist my wrist again to show it. And sometimes it shows a different icon, so I have to re-tap through, which is tricky when on a fast-moving elliptical, where I'm also trying to keep track of hi/low states on the HIIT counter.

What I'm hoping is possible is to instead have the heart rate tile stay active during the entire workout. Like this one:

Any suggestions on how to do that?

Thanks so much for the warm welcome and advice. Cheers to all!

@luluzalibi   I have an idea for you.  Unfortunately, I don't have hand's on experience with the Inspire 3.  Almost every other one.  I can do this on my Sense 2.

  • I would choose the Interval Workout shortcut.  Set your move to 20 sec, your rest to 1 min, repeat 15 times.  I don't know if you set your intervals in the app or on the device.  It's in the app on my Charge 4 and the device on my Sense 2.
  • After choosing Interval Workout, but before you start, swipe up and turn on Always On Display for this workout.  The Inspire 3 manual says that this is available in your Exercise app.
  • When you are using the Exercise app, your screen should show a top, middle and bottom stat.  Your live heart rate should be one of the middle stats you see by tapping or swiping, depending on your device.  Once you have your heart rate as your middle stat, it should stay there unless you tap or swipe.
  • You will need to watch your heart rate to know if you need to speed up or slow down.  There are no heart rate settings for your personal goals.
  • If the Interval Workout settings (when you swipe up) include heart rate notifications, those are your active zone minute notifications.  Turn that OFF.  The only vibrations you want are your move/rest vibrations.

If the Inspire 3 has a vibration setting, make sure it is on the strongest possible setting.  You might want to wear it a little tighter.  I wasn't happy with the Inspire HR or Inspire 2.  The vibration motor seemed weak and I was constantly missing my reminders to move.  I hope this helps and can't wait to get feedback.

Wow, @LZeeW , that is a great-sounding suggestion! I’ll try that for Monday’s gym session and report back. Thank you! 😊
