So I’ve had a inspire 3 for about a year got in nov 2022, before that I had an inspire 2. For the past couple months the heart rate monitor has driven me crazy and I even went to see a doctor who said I’m fine but the heart rate monitor was giving me cardiophobia. After 3 months with the heart rate monitor off I started using the heart rate monitor to get back into running and tracking my data. But I’ve noticed some inaccuracy in my heart rate monitor today I was doing body weight squats and kind of walking around my room and I felt super normal didn’t even feel like my heart was beating hard at all, but according to this device my heart rate was reaching peaks of 191 and 196 apparently didn’t last for more than 30 seconds and I grabbed my pulse ocymetwr and it read at 120 bpm while my fitbit was claiming I was in my legit maximum heart rate. I’m 26 so if you do the math 196 should be my max heart rate and if my fitbit was right I didn’t even feel anything, it was irritating because I’m now questioning the accuracy of this device, with sleep I was already annoyed bc it counts turning sometimes as being awake. Anyways any1 experience this before?

FWIW, I regularly see heart rate spikes during my runs, sometimes 30 bpm or more above the average when I'm running at a steady pace on flat terrain. The spikes are well above what my max heart rate should be at my age (75) and since I haven't dropped dead yet I assume the readings are wrong and ignore them. I have also experienced the Fitbit telling me I'm earning zone minutes when I'm not doing anything strenuous.

When I go for a hike my fitbit heart rate is wildly off. My heart will be pounding, sometimes my head starts to hurt a little, and it shows 80 BPM. One time I checked it myself and my HR was around 140 BPM. This constantly happens. It seems to work fine when I am biking, but walking or hiking, it's like it has no idea what it is. I have tried lose, tight fitting; adjusting it so it's on different parts of my wrist; but nothing helps. It's one of the reasons I'm looking to switch to a different company. I don't know why it is so completely off.
