7/13 Update: We’re continuing to roll out this firmware for the Inspire 3 Firmware Update 194.61, and expect more customers are able to update their devices. This is a progressive rollout and all customers can expect to have it within a few weeks. We release updates in phases so that we can monitor performance closely and make adjustments if needed. If you don't see the option to update, don't worry - you'll have it soon!
We’re excited to announce that a firmware update version 194.61 for Inspire 3 will be available soon! Some of you might already have this update available. If you installed it, let us know what you think!
We release updates to customers in phases. If you don’t see it, check the Fitbit app in a few days, and you’ll see a message when you can install the update. We appreciate your patience while we get this update to all of our customers.
*Firmware releases are not distributed based on region or location and can reach anyone no matter where you reside. We do not recommend performing a factory reset to force the update to your device as your data will be lost and you may not get the update. Please be patient and wait until you see the update banner inside of the Fitbit app to begin the firmware download.

I finally got fed up and uninstalled the Fitbit app. It took over a spot on my navigation bar and I couldn't keep it off, so I ditched the app. and realized that I didn't need an algorithm to tell me how I felt and how well I slept. I can pretty much figure that out on my own and have been doing it for the past 62 years. Whatever additional benefit I get from the data it collects (if it's accurate, of course) is outweighed by the hassle this "update" has proven to be.

Eliminating streak data flies in the face of considerable research which documents the motivating dopamine hit generated by seeing a streak extended, even by one day. When I first got a Fitbit, I had no idea it had the streak feature, but I got really psyched once I saw that I had started one, and was surprised by the extent of my disappointment when I didn't maintain it one day. So i started again and was at ~1,064 consecutive days of 5 miles+, motivated to walk through blizzard conditions, 4am start during heat waves, and even food poisoning. Now that powerful motivation has been taken away because Fitbit decided they know better than we do what's good for us--a more "holistic" approach to health and fitness that doesn't focus on data points so much. But that approach was always available to Fitbit users before the new app--no one was forced to use streak data as motivation.
Eliminating streak data was an act of hubris. You have the power to remedy this and i urge you to do so. I know I'm not the only user enormously upset at this change.

I did the update, but on my phone it does not show how much time is left on the battery. I have looked everywhere, is it not there?

in the upper left corner is a symbole for devices, like a phne and a watch. click on it and you see your devices with a battery symbol. No percentage whatsoever. i like the update as it allows me to configure just the things i am interested in, which is nothing sports. only disadvantage as of now is the lost battery indicator everywhere, even while synching. as i said before, i dont expext to get better quality anytime soon.

I got the update and am stunned that this is considered an improvement. I actually thought maybe the entire susurren had crashed and Fitbit had resorted to its original archaic software. It’s ugly, boring, and I hope you fix it quickly.

I miss the battery level!! I don’t like that there isn’t a percentage anymore! For me it makes it hard to know when I need to charge. Also miss the flights of stairs. That disappeared a while ago.

Had the update a few days now, but the step counter is way off the mark. Even changing once or twice during 24 hours.
I know roughly how far I daily walk, but the app is way out.
Not good!

If something is not broken why try to fit it? The new app is no where near as good as the old one. Shows battery full when it is not. Why is this? Most annoying. The previous view when tapping on the Active Zone was far superior to how the updated version is. In fact please can we have the option to revert back to the App as it was before this upate which is a backward step not an imporovement. In case you have not got the message, very unhappy Fitbit user.

So many problems. It's time to give us the option of going back to the old version!

I saw there was an update dated 17th October so clicked on it and got all excited assuming one of the updates would be getting the battery percentage back. However, it wasn't there and got no idea what the update was supposed to be.
Done a review mentioning that and got a reply saying that "they don't have a timeframe, but will be back in future updates". They took it off quick enough so should put it back on just as quick as well!!!🙄

This update has taken away battery % charged which I liked and miss. Also seems like it has resulted in slower response. Sometimes it won’t even update the data from my device. Not happy at all with this firmware update.

Dear Lizzy
I’m still on 188.58.
I tried everything suggested to force update and in the guide section it tells me that the device is updated.
Any suggestions for having last firmware on my device.

Seems like they stopped distributing this update. Maybe too many bugs!

Does your device record naps? Mine does not. 😞

mine does without any problems. If yours is new, give it a few days to adjust. It takes some time in the beginning.
Regarding the update, i dont think we will see any anymore. Google already stopped selling and support for fitbit devices in some countries. there where huge problems with some of the pricier devices of the last generation, which might have ended in selling less than planned. i hope i am wrong, but i wouldnt be suprised when in the future there might be the google watch (mine died after few months and the support wasnt support at all btw) and maybe two further devices with less functionalities and different shapes and thats it.Thats based on my own gut feelings alone tho. so please take with a grain of salt..

Thanks for the feedback.
regarding naps, my inspire is about a couple of weeks old. It did record one nap, at the very beginning, then a couple of times it happened I fell asleep in the weekend it did not record anything.
I will be a little bit more patient and give the inspire some opportunity to gain back my trust 😀.
