Just to clarify, the only thing missing on your display is the time? Or don't you see anything in it? I appreciate your time in this process.
For display issues like screen black, verify first if the device is syncing to the Fitbit app on your mobile. If yes, it may be possible that it's just a display issue.
Attempt to restart your device if you haven't done so:
