Inspire 3 bands not compatible with prior Inspire models

I’m very disappointed in the Fitbit inspire 3.   I just purchased and once I received it I realize that NONE of the 10 or more bands I have for my prior Inspire HR are compatible. I like to chg  bands often.  Also the plastic bands that come with the Fitbits break very easily after a few months of use. I must be able to purchase a good quality band that doesn’t break easily. This is a lousy, poor  decision on the part of the Fitbit design and marketing teams!   I am returning the Fitbit and I’m now considering looking at other brands.

Hi there, @cgx. Welcome to the Fitbit Community Forums. I really appreciate your feedback about Inspire 3 bands. Sorry we don't have this option for you.

As you can see on Inspire 3 manual, it's mentioned that Fitbit Inspire 2 bands and clip accessory are not compatible with Inspire 3. And the Inspire 2 charger doesn't work with Inspire 3 either. This information is on page 6 and 13. We don't specifically mention Inspire HR since it is an older model and those type of bands are not being used any more on recent models since Fitbit technology is always innovating.

Thanks for your understanding.

But why? It's not definitely not innovation. Anti-consumer, regressive practices like usual for Fitbit.

This has absolutely nothing to do with Fitbit's continuing innovating technology. The outside form factor has nothing to do with the internal guts of the device, it's just a piece of plastic. It's just a way to gouge the customer. That's why I use either eBay or Amazon to get the cheap bands from China.

They have been doing this for years. Please do not disrespect your customers with the innovation excuse. It's unseemly.

A bit late to the party, but my old original Inspire 1 band does fit in the Inspire 3.  I was a bit disappointed at first when I heard old bands won't fit, but I figured I would see for certain that it didn't fit, but lo and behold, it does fit.  Even with the original pins.  So it won't hurt to try some of your old bands to see if they will fit.  It does take a little finagling to get the pins to set in the hole, FYI.  Work over a white towel, so you don't lose the pins.

That’s not true. The band for the Inspire 3 is EXACTLY THE SAME BAND as the Inspire HR!  And I’m pretty mad about that since my old HR broke off at the band connection which was a common problem. I had assumed that the new Inspire would have a completely redesigned band. Very very disappointed in this.
