Hello-
I just switched to the Inspire 3 this past week and noticed a huge change in my calories calculations. I had been using a Charge 3 and also had a premium subscription, but had not had a subscription for awhile because of frustration on some aspects. But with some of the new metrics I decided to try the premium subscription again. What I noticed was now all the days prior where I was under my calories burned (on Charge 3) I am now over everyday and today moved more than average and already telling me I am over. So my question is, does the new device and or the premium subscription take into consideration other metrics that weren’t available in my previous calculations making it more accurate and before it wasn’t? Just don’t understand how I was constantly under before, now I am over and I haven’t recorded lunch or dinner. I know I can obviously exercise more but thats not the issue, just wondering why it’s drastically changed with new fitbit?
TIA

Hi, @RJCoote welcome, if you touch the food tile in the "Today" screen (new app) under the tabs "Cal in Vs. Out" next to "Today" it tells you if you are over or under budget - touch "Learn more" for the explanation of how the calorie allowance changes throughout the day. I use an alternative device & my Fitness Pal alongside my Inspire 3 (Yes, I know a nerd) and find the difference between them is never more than about 100 calories for the day out of a total budget of 3,150. I weigh myself regularly and believe the numbers are accurate as I gain & lose weight when I expect it.
I hope this helps.
Cheers

Thank you for your reply. I have had Fitbit's since 2015, I understand how to read the data. What I am saying is it seems to be inaccurate. I thought that was clear in my inquiry, sorry I guess it wasn’t. I was explaining that prior to my Inspire I was always “under” and now even those days I was under with my Charge 3, the history has all changed to “over”. So my question is more related to the possibility of the newer smart technology being either more or less accurate in its calculations, and I also don’t understand why my history from my previous would all change to “over” now. Something is amiss…
The other factor I mentioned was my subscription to premium,(I have had on and off) does that influence the ability to be more precise in the calorie calculations?
Thank you,
Rhonda

Hi, @RJCoote I apologise for my misunderstanding. This is a community board and it is moderated and monitored, posters like myself are volunteers (click the Medalion under my recent photograph for details). I know from experience that back-office algorithms, work schemes and proprietary procedures are not commented on. There is evidence over time that there is a work cycle refining device software & the Fitbit app. The most recent update of the Fitbit app is a point in case. I do not think your premium membership impacts the accuracy of data you see, premium membership just gets you more data & access.
I can't comment on how or why old data is changed, you might make progress by talking to "Customer Support" but what they can tell you will be limited.
I hope this helps.
Cheers
