I have the same problem, after the last firmware update, there are false spikes in the heart rate measurements for no reason. This reduces the Inspire 3 to a very expensive step counter, all other measurements are totally false and useless. I want to downgrade back to the previous firmware.

Hi RG63
This is happening to me. EVERYTHING do not seems to be functioning correctly sine the latest FW update. From heart rate to zone minutes; it's going "crazy" all of a rush. Let's hope there will be an update to fix the bugs.

Has anyone actually had a positive customer experience after downloading this new device FW?
I recently received the red dot letting me know that the new FW was available for download, but that doesn't sound advisable to me at this point in time.

Exactly. I'm moving around and it doesn't update heart rate or zone minutes. There was one instance where the device only recorded 9 minutes in one day. And I walked over 16K steps. How does that happen????

Incredibly bad FW/SW QA test of new FW/SW releases.

I seriously just bought this thing yesterday and updated it and now it's not showing the correct zone minutes or counting my fat burn zone

Same for me. I did the update about two weeks ago and my stats have plummeted compared to what they consistently were for the past year-plus. Nothing else has changed in my routine that would cause this problem. I’ve tracked my heartbeat with other tracking apps during this time and they are consistent with earlier results.

Same happens to me - under reading by 30 bpm! Completely useless. Hopefully someone will notice at Google!

Since the latest update, my higher heart rate readings are inflated by 30 to 40% (although lower rates are more accurate) and sometimes show implausibly rapid variability. Also, today Fitbit failed to note the end of an elliptical session, counting an extra 15 min of sitting and other movements.
Are you listening, Fitbit engineers?

I was getting erratic heart rate readings prior to the update. I walk at a pretty steady pace over basically flat, paved surfaces. During the course of a 30 minute walk, I'll see my heart rate climb to about 130 initially but 2 or 3 times it will fall into the 70s even though I have not stopped. I did see this on the prior firmware version but it does seem to happen more often lately. I attribute part of the problem to the Fitbit losing contact and/or moving around on my wrist. It it worse when I walk than when I run which I can't figure out.

I managed to get a warranty replacement. A reconditioned unit that has the old software. Back to my expected rate. What it looked like the new software did was smooth the HR.

Since the update I'm barely registering any zone minutes. Before hand I got them every day. I've done a 5.5 mile walk today and a workout and got 1 zone point. Normally I would have gone way beyond my 22 goal per day.

Prior to the FW update my heart rate during the walk exercise was reasonable and steady. After the FW update my heart rate is now highly erratic. I have not changed things on my end other than the FW update. Thank you Google ML!
