I have an Inspire 3 which is no longer measuring distance accurately. For the past 4 years, once a week, I have taken a walk approximately 4.5 miles long, and whatever Fitbit I had (earlier versions of Fitbit Inspire) accurately measured the distance. My current Fitbit is an Inspire 3, and it used to measure the distance accurately. However, several months it began to measure the 4.5 mile walk as about 3.2 miles. This is inaccurate because I'm walking the same route that I've walked for the past 4 years, plus 2 other people with whom I walk have devices that measure the walk as approximately 4.5 miles while my Fitbit measures it as 3.2 miles. What do I do to fix the Inspire 3 so that it measures the distance walked accurately.

The distance you walk is just a calculation based on steps and the stride length entered in the app. I would check your stride length in the app as it may have been changed/reset somehow to a shorter distance which could be the issue.

I have the same issue. When I first got my inspire 3 it was very accurate on the treadmill or on the known distance (with well established quarter mile markers). Now I walk 4 miles and get credit for 3.25 - 3.33 miles. It’s frustrating, but my body and mind know I did the work. Just be nice for the technology I bought to help me maintain my goals is failing so miserably lately.

Hi, @AllanSyd, @Hutzmoose & @cagrif21 welcome, I'm reliably informed this issue is receiving attention, in the meantime a reported workaround is to disable the automatic stride length setting in the Fitbit app. From the "Today" screen in the Fitbit app, touch your icon in the top right> Fitbit settings>exercise>stride length>put the "set automatically" slider into the "off" position (note the length of the stride for future reference)
Let us know how you get on by posting here again.
Cheers
