I've had my inspire about 6 months. It worked fine until about a month ago. Now, it doesn't start until I've been asleep for an hour or more. And if I get up for even 5 minutes, it starts another sleep period. I need my total sleep. I have an insurance plan through work that gives more points if you sleep 7 hours. According to fitbit, I haven't slept more than 2 hours for over a month now. I've checked all settings and even changed wristbands and loosened and tightened with no better results.

I found that it takes two back-to-back manual syncs of the device each morning before the app reports the total sleep time.
Sometimes I'll open the app in the morning and the reported sleep time is only a bit more than 2 hours, but it will change to about 7 hours of reported sleep time after manually syncing the device a couple of times.

Another thing to try is changing the sleep sensitivity setting from 'normal' to 'sensitive', or vice-versa, to see if that makes any difference.
It doesn't seem to make any difference for me, but it might for you.
Edit: Forget about the sleep sensitivity setting, because it is only used for the sleep 'pattern' chart return. That setting is not used for the sleep 'stage' chart return.
