Recently purchased an inspire 3 as wanted to track my steps and found the sleep score info interesting.
However, the step count on mine is quite honestly, ridiculously inaccurate. For example; led in bed watching a film racked up 200 steps and cutting my dinner up racked up 50 steps.
I have tried/done:
- correct weight and height
- adjusting stride length
- restarting Fitbit
- changing to ‘dominant’ wrist on settings
despite these changes it is still being totally incorrect and inaccurate.
Anyone with any tips would be most appreciated as it’s driving me a bit bonkers now and will return if the issue can’t be fixed 😞
Thank you in advance x

Hi, @KLE92 welcome to the community, you may find this article of interest How does my Fitbit device calculate my daily activity? - Fitbit Help Center . The numbers you mention are quite modest and could be accounted for by random movement of your arm. There are examples of much larger discrepancies where pushing a shopping trolly or stroller does not register steps. The other extreme is where someone is typing or driving and the very frequent movement triggers a "step". All wearables are affected in some way or another. This old article from a third party provides more thoughts on the issue How to make your fitness tracker count steps more accurately - The Verge .
I hope this helps.
Cheers
