Hello, I appreciate fitness watches can never be 100% accurate but mine is showing high calorific burn when I’m not wearing it. For example yesterday when I opened it out of the box brand new and set it up it said I had burned over 800 calories during a period when I didn’t even own the watch. Then this morning I am not wearing the watch and didn’t wear it through the night but the app is saying I’ve burned over 400 calories already. How can I fix this?

Hi there, @HLH1906. Welcome to he Fitbit Community Forums. Thanks for the details provided in your post, I understand where your concern is coming from.
Please keep in mind the value that you see on your Fitbit when you wake up in the morning is your estimated calorie burn for the day so far.
Note you still burn calories even if you have been sedentary or were sleeping. We estimate your calorie burn based on your age, gender, height and weight. You burning calories even when you are sleeping. When you are not wearing your Fitbit then it is estimated your passive calories burned. For more information, see How accurate are Fitbit devices?
Probably, the same amount you're seeing after waking up is the same you saw once you created your Fitbit account. This is because after the set up, it then populates your profile with this calorie burn back for six months (even more or years back) or so to give you a sensible baseline against which to compare your future calorie burn once your watch starts tracking your exercise and adding exercise calories to your BMR calories. What you're seeing is an expected behavior and the calorie counts are individualized to you.
